Harry Potter Initial thoughts

Four and a half hours -yeah baby - however I wish it had been longer. that having been said I shall cut the rest for those of you who have not yet read it. Keep in mind these are initial thoughts and a little disjointed. There will be more later.
Wow, where to begin?
First off - ship wise - as that is my specialty. For the record, I am a D/G, H/Hr, and Albus/Minerva shipper. Major, major shipper. Still JK wrote the R/Hr scenes in such a way that I was okay with them (though I still think Hermione and Ron will have a big ugly breakup and five years later she and Harry will get married). I did laugh at the R/Hr scenes and I agree they were very fanfictionish, but that was okay. Harry and Ginny I still have big problems with. I agree that it was similar to Spiderman 2, and way overdone and cliched.
I was very disappointed about the reactions of the staff to Dumbledore's death (okay, I'm mainly mad about Professor McG's reaction to his death). However this has stirred up plot bunnies that I need to go write. I still maintain A/M as a valid ship.
I love all of the ideas on Dumbledore and his death, however - after denying it through the last chapters of the book and for an hour afterwards - I do believe he's dead. But my fingers are crossed that I'm wrong and the phoenix does symbolize that he will return alive, instead of symbolizing what I thought - that Harry 'resurrected' him when he declared that he is "Dumbledore's man through and through."
Draco - quite possibly my favorite character. I was excited when the second chapter alluded to Draco, I knew I was going to get a great plot and more character. And I was right. Awww...now I love CanonDraco as much as I love FanonDraco (And the plot bunnies keep multiplying). JK really gave him depth, something he had very little of up to that point.
That's all for now. My mind is still spinning.
Viola
PS: Ok one more thing. I liked Tonks/Remus - they were the only ship in the book I actually shipped - But I did love the Bill/Fleur scene - and I do believe that with Remus being so secretive that is exactly how it would happen. They would just show up one day holding hands.
PPS: Sorry one last thing. Did anyone else read the last few chapters in such a state of disbelief that Dumbledore's death didn't sink in for some time, and then all of a sudden started crying. Because it happened to me and my roommate looked at me as though I was mad.
Leave me comments and let me know what you thought.
PS: Looky RENT icon! YAY!!
